The New York Stock Exchange has announced on Friday plans to expand trading hours. Now the electronic platform NYSE Arca will offer a new schedule from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. This is 5 hours longer than the current close at 3:00 PM.
"We believe that extending trading hours on NYSE Arca can provide participants with greater flexibility for executing trades, managing risks, and reacting to news and events in real-time," said the exchange representative.
This change will take effect starting September 26. Investors have expressed support for this initiative, noting that extended trading hours will help them adapt to the changing market conditions.
