Baltasar Rodríguez Joins Inter Miami on Loan

The offensive midfielder Baltasar Rodríguez joined Inter Miami in the United States on loan from Racing, which acquired the services of Paraguayan Richard Sánchez from América de Mexico. Following the 1-0 defeat against Huracán at home last Saturday, Gustavo Costas' team began the week leading up to the classic Avellaneda match on Sunday against Independiente at the Libertadores de América - Ricardo Enrique Bochini Stadium.

In this initial preparation for the traditional Avellaneda encounter, the coach parted ways with offensive midfielder Baltasar Rodríguez and was informed of the arrival of Paraguayan Richard Sánchez. Trained at Racing, the montethermoseño made his debut in May 2023 with the 'Academy' in a loss to Talleres de Córdoba and since then has played 68 matches and scored seven goals.

The midfielder becomes a teammate of Argentine star Lionel Messi through a one-year loan, payable with an option to buy for approximately 5 million dollars for 80 percent of the rights. For his part, the Paraguayan midfielder from the capital Asunción arrives at the 'Academy' after the acquisition of all rights for 3 million dollars.

Coming from América de México, the player is already at the Hotel Libertador, and in the coming hours, he will undergo a medical examination at the Deragopyan Medical Center. Costas' plan is for Sánchez to join training at Racing on Tuesday and be part of the bench for the 'Academy' in their visit to Independiente on Sunday at 4 PM.

The central midfielder was developed at Olimpia in Paraguay, where he made his debut in July 2017 in a draw against Nacional, and until his departure to América, the player played 72 matches and scored five goals, leading to his call-up for the Paraguay national team, where he scored against Argentina in the 2019 Copa América. Although Sánchez ended up at América for 6 million dollars in 2019, the midfielder was very close to joining Independiente when it was managed by Ariel Holan. He eventually arrived at the 'Eagles,' where he played 211 matches, scored 18 goals, and won four titles.
