During the last two electoral campaigns of former President Donald Trump, his daughter Ivanka Trump played a prominent role, participating in rallies, television ads, and national convention stages with the aim of attracting female voters. However, nearly two years ago, Ivanka announced that she and her husband Jared Kushner would step back from politics to prioritize their family.
In the midst of her father’s electoral campaign, Ivanka has maintained a low profile, showing no intentions of publicly endorsing his candidacy. This decision coincides with the legal challenges facing the former president, with four pending criminal trials, including those related to the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021.
Despite her almost invisible role in this campaign, Ivanka and Kushner continue to support Trump and are available to provide advice if he requests it. Depending on the outcome of the elections, their involvement in politics may resurface. Meanwhile, Lara Trump, Trump’s daughter-in-law, has taken a more active role in the campaign.
During significant events, Ivanka’s presence has been scarce. Unlike other family members, she did not attend her father’s trial in Manhattan for 34 felony charges. Although she briefly appeared at the Republican National Convention in July, she did not speak as she did in previous conventions.
Ivanka and Kushner's relationship with Trump seems to be more focused on family and financial aspects rather than politics. Their move to Miami has been interpreted as a self-imposed exile following the events of January 6. Despite this, they have remained professionally active.
The couple has managed to prosper financially apart from politics; however, their businesses have been questioned in relation to their closeness to Trump. Despite rumors about a possible return to politics in a second term, both have stated that they prioritize their family and professional life at this time.
