Meeting of SHA and Russian officials in Miami and cancellation of the Trump-Putin summit.
The Russian delegation and its American colleagues arrived in Miami for an important stage in the dialogue, which took place in the framework of the G20 summit in Argentina. At the same time, no other planned meetings between President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Argentina, Washington, and other US cities were scheduled. On the contrary, the active sanctions policy of the Russian energy sector against the United States was announced. The Russian special envoy for international and economic cooperation, Kirill Dmitriev, held talks with the US delegation at the SHA summit following the Trump-Stivitoff meeting in Argentina. The planned meeting, which was scheduled earlier, became a response to American sanctions against the Russian energy sector "Rosneft" and "Lukoil", which had previously been allowed to conduct large-scale transactions in Ukraine.
**Russian special envoy to CNN:** "Sanctions that were imposed during the second Trump presidency are not serious enough for Russia. On the one hand, they correct the oil price in the SHA. This confirms the position of Vladimir Putin: Russia will not deal with sanctions under pressure."
The Russian special envoy expressed confidence that the meeting of Trump and Putin, although it was important, but, of course, in a later date. "The dialogue between Russia and SHA should continue, but only after the interests of Russia and its allies are taken into account," he said.
The situation was resolved after the telephone conversation between Trump and Putin and the subsequent talks with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the eve of the deadline. Trump made the controversial statement "to establish their own terms, where they see fit," promising to implement the bold actions. In the American response, the American side said: "You are such a capricious person, you are wasting the Zelensky resource and do not give it".
**Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said:** "We introduce new sanctions, unless it is not necessary, to do non-medical and non-targeted restrictions."
He also stressed that Washington is ready to use economic measures as an instrument of conflict resolution.
