Trump Signs Executive Orders on Military Gender Policies

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has recently signed a series of executive orders that introduce significant changes to the U.S. military, highlighting the prohibition of the inclusion of transgender individuals. In this context, Trump stated that "expressing a 'gender identity' that differs from a person's sex cannot meet the rigorous standards required for military service." Furthermore, the president announced that the official policy of his administration will align with the notion that there are only two genders: male and female.

Under the title "Defending Women from the Extremism of Gender Ideology and Restoring Biological Truth in the Federal Government," the order establishes that "sexes are not changeable and are based on undeniable realities." The Trump administration has also decided to replace the term 'gender' with 'sex,' arguing that the latter represents the "immutable biological classification of an individual."

In his statements, Trump asserted that "the pursuit of military excellence cannot be diluted to accommodate political agendas or ideologies that compromise the cohesion of the unit." The president argued that the Armed Forces have been influenced by a "radical gender ideology" that, according to him, disregards fundamental requirements of military service, such as the physical and mental health of soldiers. With these measures, the president seeks to reaffirm his position on an issue that has generated intense debates in American society.
