Twelve Miami Beach hotels will host the artistic projects and installations participating in the 'No Vacancy' competition starting November 14. This competition aimed at local creators is part of Miami Art Week. The city indicated that the fifth edition of 'No Vacancy' aims to promote critical discourse and encourage the public to experience the famous hotels of Miami Beach as artistic destinations.
The jury will evaluate the works of twelve participating artists or collectives, with a prize of $25,000 for the winner and $10,000 for the second place. The exhibition of the selected works will run until December 12 in the participating hotels. The artists were chosen after an open call issued by the city of Miami Beach.
Some of the notable participants include Julia Zurilla, who will present a multimedia project at the Avalon Hotel; Marielle Plaisir, with her work at the Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club; and Magnus Sodamin, whose project 'Reflections of our Environment' will be at the Faena Hotel. The showcase in the twelve hotels will be part of Miami Art Week, which will take place during the first week of December and will include various international fairs and exhibitions, such as Art Basel Miami Beach, scheduled to open on December 6.
