The Mexican band Camila is celebrating two decades of musical career with their 'Regresa Tour', a tour that marks their return to the United States after Samo's reintegration into the group. In an interview with EFE, the band expressed that this tour completes a process of making music that excites them and gives them "chills."
"We are a band with a lot of luck. And the songs we chose were also well thought out so that people can take away a good experience, that they can listen to the most representative of each album, that they can hear a bit of the new stuff we bring, and that all of that is well balanced," they stated.
They admitted that they never stop composing, and they already have new music in the pipeline, including a song written by Samo to celebrate his 50th birthday in December. Samo detailed that he is living a moment of great internal freedom, tranquility, and peace.
The band has sold out tickets for more than 800 shows in about 21 countries. The approximately two-hour show features the support of 100 people, including musicians, and will take them on a musical journey filled with love featuring hits like 'Todo cambió' and 'Mientes', up to 'Corazón en coma', their first regional Mexican music track with Edén Muñoz.
For the first time, they have allowed themselves to explore new genres for Camila, such as bolero, mariachi, gospel, rock, and even norteña music. Mario Domm, a member of the band, shared: "We have made songs that have the intention of doing good for people, so we have connected for 20 years, since the first song we released, which was 'Abrázame.'"
The 'Regresa Tour' begins in Miami on May 11, following their performance at the Bésame Mucho Festival in Austin (Texas) and some dates in Mexico and Honduras. The band has scheduled performances in various cities across the United States, and this summer they will arrive in Spain for concerts in Valencia, Madrid, and Barcelona.
This reunion of the band, which started with a message on WhatsApp, was born with more freedom than ever and gave rise to the album 'Regresa', which carries the same name as the tour. Even after more than a decade, it was challenging not only for the professional relationship but also for the friendship.
