A 21-year-old Argentine woman has been missing for a week in the US city of Los Angeles. She is Narela Micaela Barreto, from the town of Banfield, Buenos Aires Province. Two years ago, she moved to the country and rented an apartment. A cousin of the victim reported the disappearance through a message shared on social networks, demanding a 'response from US police,' according to the Argentine News Agency. 'She is Narela Micaela Barreto, she is Argentine. We have been looking for her since January 21, 2026, she disappeared in the city of Los Angeles. We need to know her whereabouts,' the relative stated. Her loved ones indicated that they contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to find out if the girl had been detained by personnel from that agency, but they denied that situation. In this regard, the family requested the public and the media to publish Narela's facial image to find her.
