In the present time, it is considered that a 114-year-old woman from the state of Pennsylvania is the oldest person in North America. Nomi Whitehead, residing in the home of her late husband in the town of East Salem, Greene County, became the oldest living person after the death of Elizabeth Frances from Texas on October 22.
Whitehead, who, according to her own words, never smoked and did not consume alcohol, was born in September 1910 on a farm in Georgia and lived after the death of her husband and three children.
Throughout her long life, Nomi attributes it to good genetics and has been engaged in various activities such as cooking, sewing, painting, and listening to music.
She told the New Castle News in September 2023 that she does not set a specific life goal but noted: "I will live as long as the Lord allows me."
