Through social media, the death of Víctor Villarreal, the artist's father, at the age of 77, was announced. Alicia Villarreal decided not to cancel a concert she had scheduled in the United States and spoke about her loss during the performance last Saturday in Edinburg, Texas.

In an emotional moment during the concert, Alicia Villarreal expressed: 'I want to tell you that one of the most beautiful things I have learned from my father is to work, to work because there is no other way to survive in this world.'
