A Southwest Airlines Plane Struck by Gunfire in Dallas

A Southwest Airlines plane with passengers on board was hit by gunfire at Dallas Love Field Airport in Texas while preparing for takeoff to Indianapolis. An airline representative reported that a bullet struck the right side of the plane below the cockpit.

After the incident, fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the plane returned to the gate for passengers to disembark. It was then discovered that the projectile had struck the aircraft, specifically near the cockpit of the Boeing 737-800 Max.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that the bullet hit the aircraft and indicated that the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation to determine what happened, although it is suspected to be a random shooting. The Dallas police have taken over the investigation since gunfire was reported on Friday night.

With 99 passengers on board, the airline will arrange for passengers to be rebooked on other flights to continue their journeys safely. The airport temporarily closed its national runway due to the situation, and authorities have been cooperating with the police amid the investigations.
