Adolescent Accused of Murdering Domestic Violence Suspect

A 15-year-old boy was accused of murdering a man who allegedly assaulted his mother in the United States last week. The incident occurred in Cincinnati last Thursday when the Police Department responded to an emergency call about a shooting on Pasadena Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified as Levonte Hyde, 30, with multiple gunshot wounds. Hyde was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he unfortunately died. Authorities then arrested the teenager and charged him with murder after linking him to the incident.

Court records indicate that the assaulted woman had visible facial injuries and that, according to Lieutenant Jonathan Cunningham, the teenager is one of her children who reported Hyde for domestic violence. Although Hyde and the minor's mother have two children together, it is noted that the teenager is not the deceased's son.

The minor appeared in the Hamilton County Juvenile Court and was charged with firing 12 shots at Hyde. In a later hearing, it was determined that the teenager would remain detained until his next court appearance, scheduled for March 3. Deputy Prosecutor Tatyana Reintjes stated that the young man "had time to locate a firearm, open it from a safe, retrieve the weapon, and wait for the victim to arrive, to finally empty the magazine on him."

Additionally, authorities sought a temporary protection order for the assaulted woman. Before the tragic incident, police had issued a warrant for Hyde's arrest for domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted the teenager's mother several times on February 20.
