Inter Miami forward, Leo Messi, was named the best player of the week in MLS for the sixth time this season. Messi achieved this recognition after scoring a hat-trick against New England Revolution in the last 30 minutes of the match. With 20 goals and 16 assists in just 1,485 minutes on the field, Messi has been a key player for Inter Miami.
The team managed to finish the regular season with a record of 74 points, winning the Supporters' Shield for the best club of the regular season. Inter Miami will begin the playoffs this Friday against Atlanta United or Montreal in a best-of-three series. Messi had already been chosen as the best player of the week in rounds 9, 11, 12, 32, and 36, making him one of the few players to achieve this award six times in a single season alongside Carlos Vela and Jason Kreis.
