Jake Paul is set to face Mike Tyson in a highly anticipated fight, and he is already thinking about his next challenge: Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez. The famous YouTuber will take the stage on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Texas, United States, in an exhibition match where Mike Tyson will return to the ring.
During the pre-fight press conference, Jake Paul taunted Mike Tyson by wearing a flashy ear protector, referencing the time Mike bit Evander Holyfield. Amid the jests, Paul mentioned: 'I don’t want Tyson to bite my ear, that’s why I’m wearing this diamond protector.' For his part, Tyson responded to the taunts by saying: 'On the internet you’ve been saying you were going to kill me, but then in person nothing. Meanwhile, I am a killer by nature, that's the difference.'
Jake Paul has not only challenged Tyson but also publicly called out Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez. During an open training session, Jake was asked if he planned to face 'Canelo' in the future, to which he provocatively replied: 'If he doesn’t accept my challenge, he’s a b****.' Additionally, in a podcast, he expressed his desire to face the Mexican boxer, stating: 'Canelo is on his way out, so he’s going to want a payday. It makes a lot of sense.'
Despite multiple solicitations on social media and podcasts, 'Canelo' has responded to Jake Paul only once, indicating that they are on different levels. The fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will be broadcast live on Netflix from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The card will also feature other highlighted bouts such as Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano and Mario Barrios vs. Abel Ramos, among others.
Jake Paul has made it clear that his bout against 'Canelo' at 200 pounds for the weight championship would be very important for him, possibly even more than his confrontation with Tyson. Meanwhile, Mike Tyson has remained calm overall, but when pressed by the media about the possibility of losing, he responded angrily: 'I’m not going to lose… I already told you I’m not going to lose.' Additionally, Tyson pointed out the difference between himself and Jake Paul, calling him a 'media-created killer.'
